Countries
VPAs are potentially important to all countries exporting timber, but the initial interest has come from four countries: Ghana, Cameroon, Indonesia, and Malaysia. What can we learn from these examples about the different ways VPA initiatives have been designed, and about the perception of the VPA from different points of view? These pages consolidate experience to date and to suggest pointers, and warnings, about the role of VPAs as they are adopted in more and more places.

Other countries who have had some contact with the EU on VPAs include Gabon, Republic of Congo (Congo Brazzaville), Liberia, Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), Brazil, Bolivia, Vietnam, Ecuador and others.
